In Defense of Lobbying

Scott Segal is co-head of the federal government relations and strategic communications practices at Bracewell & Giuliani LLP. A practicing lawyer, Mr. Segal assists clients with effective participation in the legislative and regulatory processes in many areas of government operation, including environment, energy, trade and consumer issues. He also has led campaigns for clients in financial services, health care and other fields.

Mr. Segal assists clients with strategic planning and communications in changed circumstances through public-affairs initiatives, monitoring, advocacy and negotiations with the United States Congress and administrative agencies of the federal government.

He is an NFL alum, a former high school debater as well as a former debate coach. As one of Washington, D.C.’s most prominent lobbyists, he shares his insights and expertise to assist debaters in formulating a defense of lobbying from several perspectives.
